Five Best No. 51
Hey There! I took a break from updating my blog during the holiday season. After finalizing my upcoming collection for Rebecca Tollefsen Design & having a bustling holiday season at The Dedication Company I'm glad to be back to my regular posting schedule today.
It's been a while since I did a Five Best post - I think about five or six months. It is back today for the 51st installment with a little bit of an updated look.
1. As always I've included a mini mix to listen to while browsing this week's links - click the player above to listen along (email & feed subscribers click into the post for the player). Five Best From Around The Web
1. It's Thursday which means it is time for the Five Best items I saw around the web this week. As always some music to listen to while browsing this week's links - click the player above to listen along (email & feed subscribers click into the post for the player). The playlist is featured on grooveshark which is not supported by Safari. You can listen to it on any other browser.
2. I want to go here.
3. I follow the Humans of New York Facebook page and usually the photos are the most interesting thing in my feed everyday. The photographer behind the project, Brandon Stanton, finds interesting subjects on the streets of New York, takes their photos and asks them a question. I love reading the answers to the questions he asks - sometimes they are hilarious. You've probably already checked it out......but if you haven't you should! Just after the bombings Brandon went to Boston and documented life there. He didn't focus on the tragedy that just occurred. He focused on capturing the everyday spirit of Bostonians. It was pretty sweet. Anyways, this week I saw that Brandon did a TED talk last Fall.
4. This week I'm taking a little break from "what I've been watching/listening to". In the spirit of last week's The Office series finale: Bloopers. More here, here and here. I love a good blooper reel don't you?
5. Currently loving: overalls, I want to bring this doll home, dreaming of summer and seriously, how good does this look?

2. I love the mission behind this project (via Create Likes Crazy). Empowering children, giving them a voice through documenting their lives and having a chance to spread change through their communities? Yes to all of it. The prints are so good too.
3. Disney Baby featured an article on Jodi's The 52 Project - (I was excited to see one of my photos was included in the article). The 52 Project has been quite a community builder here on the web. I've met tons of great women through the series and I look forward to the growing momentum of the project throughout the year.
5. Currently loving: this outfit, this photo, these for Sylas, this DIY and this awesome stretch move.

2. I kind of like this this handwritten collection of what love is.
3. A time lapse video of a fashion shoot.
4. What I've been listening to and watching this week while working:
Watching:
-I'm still not watching that much while working. Whomp whomp. Same old story the last couple of weeks, boring, I know.
Listening:
As I mentioned above I have been in the mood for music lately. I haven't listened to any podcasts. Actually, that is not true. I did listen to After the Jump this week. Aside from that I have been listening to music the the rest of the time. Last Spring I began compiling all of the music I've used in my Five Best posts over the years so I have been listening to those compilations. I've also been listening to the new Jim James album and some Top 40 stuff - hello Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake. I even downloaded a little bit of Rihanna to add to my growing collection. Variety is the spice of life right?
5. Currently loving: these tights, this slinky one piece, the detailing on this top, this beautiful pantry arranged by color and this seems fitting after last weekend's storm.

The playlist is featured on grooveshark which is not supported by Safari. It can be viewed on any other browser. I like Chrome. Bonus: I even use Chrome on my iPhone & iPad.

3. This is perfect for John - he is good at brewing beer and this would make his dreams come true!
4. What I've been watching and listening to this week while working:
Watching:
I've been busy on the production line this week so I've been doing a lot more listening than watching. When I watch things while on the production line I find myself pausing a lot more often to stare at the screen. Staring = less production. I did get caught up on the last two episodes of Girls and I continue to try to get into Downton Abbey. Am I missing something? Quite a few people I know (who have similar tastes to me) love this show so I tried it out. Don't get me wrong I like it but I haven't fallen in love yet. I am only half way through season one though. Do you watch this show? What do you think?
Listening:
-Fresh Air with Jimmy Kimmel. Loved his story regarding Jay Leno.
-Celebrity Playlist with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. The host is a little out of hand with his super intense "hosting voice" but I love listening to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards share their perspective. I also enjoyed Crossfire Hurricane for the same reason.
-I made this mix earlier in the month and I've been listening to it often this week.
-All Songs Considered Listener's Picks: Best Albums of 2012. The choices were fairly predictable but I still enjoyed listening along as I like many of the artists featured.
5. I'm loving this jumper, this chair, this tattoo, this bed and these words.
The temperatures are supposed to climb back into the twenties this weekend in New England which will be a little more winter like and a lot less arctic like - I am waiting patiently. What plans do you have for the weekend?

2. While working I usually watch shows or listen to podcasts. Lately, I finished this show which gave an interesting look at how the world of ballet works along with a healthy dose of drama (think The Hills meets a documentary about dance). I also finished season one of The Wire and started season one of House of Lies and just caught up on The Voice. I also listened to this podcast and this podcast is hilarious (there is a media player at the top of the page to listen to the full interview).
3. Interesting infographic - where do you fit into the mix?
4. John, we need to do this right away.
