The 52 Project: A portrait of someone I love (usually my son), once a week, every week, in 2013.

This week I'm switching it up to share a portrait of The Wizard.  She's been with us for almost five years and she's the bomb.  Like any loyal dog owner, I love her in a ridiculous way - don't even get me started.  John named her Wizard but when I was pregnant I started calling her Mama and it has kind of stuck.  While I was pregnant she trailed me around the house and wouldn't let me out of her sight.  She handled me with extreme care as if she was protecting me and the baby inside of me (hence the name Mama).  Despite her rambunctious and outgoing nature I've seen her act really gentle around other pregnant women as well.  She's a mama at heart.  She's a nurturing caretaker when someone is sad or sick.  She is a protector, a busybody, a fierce cuddler, a human food hunting, playful, intuitive love that watches over us.  And she makes a badass coworker, keeping me company while I work everyday.
